Abstract. Most steps in plant nucleic acid isolation are easily adapted to 96-well format; however, tissue disruption typically is performed on samples individually and often is the rate-limiting step in sample processing. We have found that DNA and RNA isolation from Arabidopsis tissue can be carried out in 96-well format using a paint shaker fitted with an adapter for tissue disruption.
